flexiblem klangreichen Bass-Bariton, den er in seinen Arien „Si vuoi ballare Signor
Contino“ und „Non piu andrai“, und ganz besonders in seiner letzten Arie „Aprite un po’
quegli occhi“, wunderbar zur Geltung bringen konnte. Darstellerisch gewandt, ließ er
auch das komödiantische Element seiner Partie nicht zu kurz kommen.»
